In the days leading up to Christmas, Miranda Lambert and husband Brendan McLoughlin spent some time off snuggling up with furry friends for an important cause.

The couple, who will celebrate their fourth wedding anniversary this month, spent time with shelter dogs in need of homes on December 21. The 39-year-old country music star looked in her element as she posed with a variety of dogs up for adoption through the Williamson County Animal Center, the Nashville Metro Animal Care and Control Service and the Nashville Humane Association — organizations that help give unclaimed animals a safe place to call home.

After sharing a gallery of photos on Instagram, fans praised the Texas-born blonde in the comments applauding her work with shelter animals, a cause she has been passionate about for a long time.

"Thank you for all you do for our four-legged friends ❤️, " one person wrote. "Love you Miranda! Thank you so much for being an animal advocate!" a different person said. "Just one more reason to adore you💜🐾." someone else chimed in.

Back in 2009, Miranda and her mom Bev Lambert founded MuttNation Foundation, a nonprofit that spotlights rescue animals, shelters and promotes adoption, especially for harder-to-adopt dogs like pit bull mixes, senior dogs and dogs with disabilities. The organization also emphasizes the importance of spaying and neutering pets to limit overbreeding and overcrowding.

Brendan and the "Geraldene" singer additionally donated food, toys, collars, leashes, beds and more to local shelters this holiday season as part of the second annual Mutt Shop for MuttNation. Miranda, who owns five dogs and two cats, has said in the past that music and animals are her two greatest passions.

"Music and rescue animals are the two driving forces in my life," she said in a press release to celebrate MuttNation's 10-year anniversary back in 2019, according to Outsider. "I’m so fortunate that the success I’ve had with my music allows me to help shelter animals more than I dreamed possible."

With that in mind, we wouldn't be surprised if the couple adds another furry friend or two to their ever-growing family of animals sometime in the near future.
