Miracle or Total Miss? I Tried the Viral 'Pink Stuff' for Cleaning—Here's My Honest Review

Is this pink paste really worth the hype TikTok makes it out to be?

I never thought I'd be the type of person who watched video after video of disembodied hands scrubbing dirty sinks or filthy oven doors and yet, here we are. In fact, I've watched so many cleaning TikToks (AKA #CleanToks) that I finally caved and tried The Pink Stuff, the viral cleaning brand anyone who's ever scrubbed anything is obsessed with. Could it actually be the ultimate cleaning hack for saving time and money?

I wanted to see if it was worth it. So, here's what I think.

Here at Parade.com, we're all about sharing products we love with our audience. When you make a purchase on an item seen on this page, we may earn a commission, however, all picks are independently chosen unless otherwise mentioned.

If you're at the start of your cleaning journey, try following these bathroom cleaning checklists (they're printable) and start decluttering with tips from the pros.

But first, here's why you can trust me: I have tried just about every kind of cleaning product there is. I have reviewed the laundry stripping method, decoded laundry symbols, and have strong opinions on the best vacuums.

I'm a big fan of the Dryel starter kit (dry cleaning at home—heck yes!) and when in doubt, the Magic Eraser is always reliable (even when nothing else works). This house has seen me through my organic, zero-waste phase (I still use some of those concepts at times) and those few years when I made my own cleaning solutions from scratch (it's a whole lot of vinegar and citrus peels).

All that to say, I'm ~kinda~ a cleaning snob, so rest assured that not only do I know what I'm talking about, but I'm going to tell you the cold, hard truth. No fluff.

I Tried The Pink Stuff: Review

First, I've actually used The Pink Stuff before. A while back, I was in my milk bath era and after one particularly therapeutic soak, my tub was littered with all kinds of leftover grime and grit—including (but not limited to) now-limp dried flowers and bath salt residue.

What was kind of adorable and IG-worthy three minutes ago was now so gross the self-care bath itself didn't seem worth the aftermath.

Bath tub scrub

I used The Pink Stuff's Miracle Multipurpose Cleaner (because it was all I had at the time; now, I would have used the Miracle Bathroom Foam) with impressive results. Now, this kind of mess was just a short-term one. It hadn't been there for long and it's not like it would've needed multiple sprays or a ton of elbow grease to remove.

Its bark was worse than its bite, really, but the stark difference between the before and after is compelling enough to share.

Siding of shed

Next up, I decided to take The Pink Stuff to my moldy shed, which should be pale yellow but throughout the winter, has transformed into an algae-ish green.

Normally, I'd pay a couple of hundred bucks for a professional to come and powerwash the thing (as well as the pool deck and maybe the garage doors), but with the spring cleaning season coming up, I decided now was a good as time as any to do it myself.

All in all, The Pink Stuff (Miracle Multipurpose Spray again) did a good job. The tricky part here was that the siding of my shed has all these small grooves, so it was kind of difficult to get in there.

Upon the first try though, The Pink Stuff got rid of a lot of the surface layer build-up and I was impressed. If I went back for a second go, I'd probably bring my Magic Eraser with me for a second line of defense against those pesky grooves.

That being said, will I take The Pink Stuff to my entire shed moving forward? No, probably not. It's not a big shed, per se, but it is definitely not small enough to warrant the manual labor every single panel would require.

Maybe if I had some extra time to spare, it'd make a fun weekend cleaning project but you know, your girl has a high-energy dog to financially support, so I can't afford the time needed to spend the day scrubbing.

If you do, then I highly recommend the manual method (a la The Pink Stuff) instead of shelling out for a powerwasher.

Now, onto the good stuff—AKA the oven

The Pink Stuff is pretty much known as the be-all, end-all of all oven cleaners and 'Tokers are constantly dirtying their oven doors just to clean them up (whether for fun or for views—unclear). But before taking to my own oven, I decided to tackle an even more daunting task: the door of my toaster oven.

The Brava is an electric smart oven that use as a toaster, air fryer, and regular oven anywhere from three or four times a day. Since I use it significantly more often than my regular oven, I knew this was going to be the tougher appliance to clean.

On a typical day, my Brava usually sees a couple of slices of bread (for my morning avocado toast), a slice of pizza or two, roasted potatoes that need warming up, and maybe some pasta or vegan chick'n fingers that need reheating.

As you can see, the inside of the door was pretty caked with layer after layer of build-up, so I wasn't hopeful The Pink Stuff would do the job in one take. Ultimately, it took three scrubs.

My original try was with the Miracle Cleaning Paste—a mild abrasive—that didn't really accomplish much. I think the Paste is meant to be used more on bathroom-related situations like grout or shower door stains, but I'm not entirely sure.

Next, I tried again, scrubbing down with the Miracle Multipurpose paired with The Pink Stuff's double-sided silicone sponge. It wore it down but there was still a lot left to be desired.

It was the Electric Cleaning Brush (which comes with the complete set) that did the trick. I especially like this tool too, because it required significantly less elbow grease on my part.

Next? The oven. When I opened up my own oven, I was—eh—mildly appalled at best. It wasn't too completely disgusting but it was very clear that regular oven cleaning hadn't exactly been my top priority the last few months.

For this project, I used the largest brush head (the Electric Cleaning Brush comes with four options) to cover the most surface area. While someone mentioned in the comments that the brush was too small and it probably would've behooved me to use a Scrub Daddy instead, all of the residue came off without much of a fight.

If you're going to clean something that has experienced a lot of build-up over time, you're definitely going to want to reach for the Electric Cleaning Brush.

While the spray cleaners are great, this tool is the real hero.

What Is The Pink Stuff Good For?

The Pink Stuff is heralded as the only cleaning product you'll ever need (at least on TikTok) and as such, it can be used on a lot of different things.

When it comes to the Miracle Cleaning Paste, I would suggest using that more so on grout, sinks, barbecues, most things outdoors, and anything covered in brass or rust. The Miracle Paste was also the only product that removed the burn marks from my MacKenzie-Childs Dutch Oven, (which I wish I filmed but unfortunately, forgot), so I highly recommend the Paste for cook tops, saucepans and stingy countertop stains.

What Not To Use The Pink Stuff On

Another frequently asked question about The Pink Stuff is what it can and can't be used on. The Cleaning Paste in particular is a mild abrasive, so it's always best to spot-test an item first. If it does a good job and doesn't appear to have affected or warped the surface, then go full throttle.

According to The Pink Stuff, it's not recommended for use on painted walls and gold or silver fabric (like clothing, drapes or linens).

Does The Pink Stuff Work on Grout?

The Pink Stuff really makes its mark on grout. You can use either the Miracle Multipurpose Spray or Miracle Paste for scrubbing grout but either way, I highly, highly recommend using the Electric Cleaning Tool to get the best possible result.
