New mini golf course adds more action to the karts and ziplines at MS Coast attraction
People driving along Beach Boulevard in Biloxi may look over and get a sudden urge to turn into Finishline Performance Karting and try the newest attraction.
An 18-hole golf course opened Friday, hugging the L-shaped area along U.S. 90 and McConnell Avenue, in front of one of the kart tracks and below the zipline tower.
Coastal Links at Finishline adds still more to do at the action park at 1782 Beach Blvd. that also has two tracks for kart racing, twin ziplines, an arcade, party room and an 80-foot free fall ride.
The attraction sits on what was the site of Slippery Sam for 28 years before Hurricane Katrina destroyed the waterslides there and the putt-putt golf courses along the Biloxi Strip.
“There were three or four on the beach at one time,” general manager Craig Forshee said of the mini golf courses, many of which had dinosaurs or other characters to draw people in to play.
This approximately $1 million addition of the mini golf course follows a $2 million expansion that added the free fall ride and ziplines that zoom over the track. The golf course was designed by Harris Miniature Golf, which has designed and built more than 800 courses worldwide over the last 50 years.
The cost of a round of golf is $14 for adults and $7 for kids. The course is open the same hours as the other attractions at Finishline, from 11 a.m.-8 p.m., with longer hours during the summer season.
The course is landscaped and has water features and views of the water. A seating area was built next to the course and a snowball stand is coming for players to cool off after the game.
