Mindy Kaling looked sensational in a silver and yellow Dolce & Gabbana gown at the Vanity Fair Oscar After Party on Sunday evening in Los Angeles, Calif.

The 42-year-old's dramatic off-the-shoulder frock featured a glittering bodice that blended into a yellow skirt. It also featured a thigh-high slit and elegant yellow cape that fell dramatically to the floor.

The actress and producer arrived alongside former boyfriend and longtime friend, B.J. Novak, who looked dashing in a tailored black suit.

Kaling sent the internet into a frenzy by posting a series of photos of her elegant look to Instagram with the caption, “I love the movies!"

"You are glowing," raved a fan on Instagram. "How are you even real?"

"Yellow is your colour girl! Slay!" wrote another. "This woman knows how to step out in style."

"She's the queen of the carpet. Probably her best look yet!" commented another.

The actress kept her accessories simple, sporting a chunky ring and a pair of dangling teardrop earrings. She completed the look with black eyeliner and a swipe of gold eyeshadow.

Kaling's latest look is one of many from the star who seems to have undergone a personal style renaissance.

The mom-of-two, who welcomed her second child in September 2020 at the height of COVID-19, said becoming a mother has helped her come into her own confidence-wise.

In 2021, Kaling revealed that although there were its fair share of struggles, she didn't mind being pregnant or giving birth during the pandemic.

"I'm hesitant to even say this because obviously the past year and a half has been so challenging and continues to be with the variant ... but being pregnant during COVID was, in my estimation, kind of a dream," she said in an interview with "Good Morning America," adding that she enjoyed wearing sweatpants without judgement.

Kaling said that she felt tremendous pressure to get back to her pre-pregnancy body after giving birth to her daughter Katherine in December 2017. Giving birth during COVID-19 alleviated that pressure and afforded her the privacy to enjoy being a new mom.

"Having children really changes your body," she explained. "Most of the stories in Hollywood are these insane glow-ups like three months after someone gives birth and I'm like, 'Why can't I do that?' I put myself to the same standard. I want to have that same bounce back. And the truth is it just didn't happen after my son was born."
