Mindy Kaling is officially writing a Netflix show about being a teen, because sometimes we get nice things
Good news, The Office, The Mindy Project, and Champions fans: Mindy Kaling is coming back to the small screen. The Hollywood Reporter broke that the writer and actress nabbed a straight-to-series order for a new project on Netflix. The show is currently untitled, but it’s billed as a coming-of-age comedy series exploring the complicated life of a first-generation Indian-American teenage girl. It will be based in part on Kaling’s own life experiences.

Kaling will serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner along with Lang Fisher, who she worked with on The Mindy Project, and each episode is slated to be 30 minutes. Congratulations, Mindy! We’re counting down the days to its release.
