Mindy Kaling Gets Cozy At Home in a Trending Checkered Sweater & Skinny Jeans

Mindy Kaling just switched up her stay-at-home style.

The actress, who usually opts for tie-dye loungewear and colorful designer ensembles, decided to tone it down with a black and white checkered sweater and skinny jeans on Sunday.

Instead of flaunting her favorite tennis shoes or designer heels, “The Mindy Project” star also decided to go barefoot. She took to Instagram to show off her casual weekend outfit. Once again, Kaling shows us that there are no rules when it comes to fashion 2021 — her lover of colors and patterns equally allows her to have unlimited fun in her personal style.

For her latest off-duty look, Kaling picked one of this year’s most prominent patterns: checkered print. The modified striped pattern appears on sweaters and pajamas as a fun way to spice up loungewear. The pattern is also trending likely because of the Netflix original series “The Queen’s Gambit,” which is all about chess.

Since the pandemic, Kaling has been among the stars who continue to prioritize style. Earlier this month, the comedian showed off her head-to-toe designer outfit, which she said was for a trip to Costco.

When it comes to shoes, Kaling’s favorites include rainbow sneakers from Kurt Geiger London and 6-inch heels from Aquazurra. She also loves to wear footwear from brands such as Hoka One One and Malone Souliers.

For “The Office” alumna, her versatile taste in footwear lets her have all the fun with her personal style, even if she’s mostly staying at home. She continues to show us that fashion can be a way to lift the spirits and have a little fun during the prolonged period of downtime.
