Milos Teodosic leaves Clippers-Bucks with foot soreness after delivering one of the best passes of the year
Los Angeles Clippers point guard Milos Teodosic left Tuesday night’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks in the second quarter shortly after delivering a terrific no-look assist to DeAndre Jordan.
Teodosic was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to left foot soreness, per Marc Stein of the New York Times. It’s the same injury to his plantar fascia that has already cost him 21 games this season.
Teodosic played another couple of possessions with a limp — he even hit a free throw after drawing a foul — before exiting and going straight to the locker room. Teodosic was having a magnificent game —13 points, four assists and a rebound in 16 minutes — up to that point on the Clippers’ Serbian Heritage Night that honored both Teodosic and teammate Boban Marjanovic.
Teodosic is in his first season in the NBA after playing for over a decade overseas. One of the world’s best passers, he is averaging 9.5 points, 4.7 assists and 2.8 rebounds per game as a 31-year-old rookie. He is also the oldest player on the roster.
The injury comes at a particularly bad time for the Clippers, who are battling valiantly for a playoff spot in the uber-competitive Western Conference. They are currently two games back of the Minnesota Timberwolves for the eighth and final spot. When Teodosic missed time earlier in the season, sixth-man extraordinaire Lou Williams stepped into the starting lineup, and Williams started the second half of Tuesday night’s game with Teodosic unavailable.
