  • Dacre Montgomery, who plays Billy Hargrove, had a really big role in season 3 of Stranger Things.

  • Millie Bobby Brown praised Dacre's performance in an Instagram tribute.

  • He's also said good things about Millie's talent.

The latest season of Stranger Things took us on a complete rollercoaster and honestly, I wasn't ready for the ride to be over. Who knows how long we'll have to wait for a season 4? Besides El, played by Millie Bobby Brown, there's one character who's storyline really made the season: Billy Hargrove. Billy's possession by the Mind Flayer kept us on our toes the whole season. Since Billy was such a jerk in season 2, it was hard to feel bad for him, but by the end of season 3, with El's help, his character sort of redeems himself. Billy may have played a bad boy on Stranger Things, but in real life Dacre Montgomery is such a nice guy, according to Millie.

Millie took to Instagram to give her Stranger Things co-star a shoutout. She posted a behind-the-scenes photo of Dacre and her lying on the ground as they filmed the scenes at the mall.

"one of my favorite people I've gotten to work with. always so considerate and kind to me while filming some of the toughest scenes I've ever filmed. mate, you gonna go snatch those awards okurrrr 💕," she captioned the photo.

In order to prepare for his award-worthy performance as Billy, Dacre told The Independent that he did a lot of research on bipolar disorders and split personalities. "I wanted to treat it more like a real-world experience. I think that’s why the show is so successful — it’s tethered to a science-fiction element, but it’s anchored very strongly in humanity," he said.

In his interview with The Independent, Dacre also had some great things to say about Millie while talking about the scenes they filmed for the season's climax.

"She [Millie] has such an emotional maturity. I like to give 150 per cent every time I’m on set and she’s the same way. We just scream at each other and cry and talk about things. It was warm and collaborative, and I was lucky that I had an actor who could provide all that emotion. When she’s talking about my mother, it’s painful, and we had to keep having our eyes wiped down, for continuity, because of crying," he said.

Though Netflix has yet to renew Stranger Things for a fourth season, word is that the new season will start filming in October and I really hope it's true!
