Millie Bobby Brown Has Allegedly Turned Down $12 Million to Star in a ‘Stranger Things’ Movie
Stranger Things is coming to an end after five seasons, but apparently there are plans for a spin-off movie. However, it doesn’t look like Millie Bobby Brown will be partaking. According to the Daily Mail, via The Sun, Millie allegedly turned down £10 million (roughly $12.2 million USD!) to star in the film due to wanting to branch out in her career.
Netflix hasn’t confirmed this ^, so take it with a grain of salt, but Millie has made it clear that she’s ready for the show to end.
“I’m definitely ready to wrap up,” she told Seventeen earlier this month. “I feel like there’s a lot of the story that’s been told now, and we know of it, it’s been in our lives for a very long time. But I’m very ready to say goodbye to this chapter of my life and open new ones. I’m able to create stories myself that are important to me and focus on the bigger picture. But I’m really grateful [for that show].”
Millie added that she’s currently focused on school, saying, “With my job being so emotional, it’s really nice to just be able to detach from that and learn about something that’s really interesting for me. I’m really aware of how privileged I am to have the access to education and to learn more about the things that I want to learn about and then help others in retrieving that education in communities and areas that young people aren’t able to access curriculums. It’s just a circle that keeps giving.”
While Millie is clearly ready to move on from Stranger Things, a source told The Sun that the show will expand its universe: “There are so many directions it could go. Nothing is off the table. They think it would translate to a stage show for Broadway and the West End just like Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Another spin-off series following some of the show’s main characters is also being worked up.”
