Last night, Miley Cyrus kicked off Miley week on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. Even though the week, where she'll perform every night of the week on the show, was meant to promote her new album that dropped last Friday, she decided to switch gears in the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Las Vegas that took place on Sunday that saw over 50 innocent people killed and over 500 injured.

Instead of performing music from her new album, Miley decided to bring back a song she has not performed live in years, but that holds huge significance with her fans, in tribute to the victims of the senseless violence: "The Climb."

"In honor of the lives lost , injured and affected by the tragic shooting in Vegas, @fallontonight & I dedicated this show to not only mourning this horrific event but using this platform to encourage unity, peace & hopefulness!" Miley wrote on Instagram about her choice to switch up her set list. "So we started this week off with a song I haven't performed in years ... #TheClimb . These words mean more now to me than ever ... 'Keep The Faith' ..... Sending love to ALL! Enjoy the show tonight & #MileyWeek .... hope we can make you smile even thru so much pain ]]>💛
