Miley Cyrus's Boyfriend, Cody Simpson, Shares Rare, Honest Update on Their Relationship
Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson have been dating since October 2019, after Cyrus ended a month-long relationship with Kaitlynn Carter. Cyrus has been using her Instagram grid for her activism and to promote her show, Bright Minded. Simpson's also been using this time to pose in his mask on Instagram and hasn't posted any photos with his girlfriend on his grid.
But on Saturday, Simpson posted a photo on his story of him and Cyrus snuggled up together in the car. "In love with my best friend," he wrote.
Simpson and Cyrus started dating pretty soon after her split from her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, last year, but the sparks have been flying (at least on Simpson's end) for years. Last fall, a video of Simpson talking about his huge crush on Cyrus resurfaced, and we all got to see a teen Simpson confess his feelings for his now-girlfriend.
"Miley Cyrus has always been my childhood celebrity crush. I knew all the words to her songs—I'm not gonna lie," he said then. I'm not ashamed about it, at all. I was a big Miley Cyrus fan. I think she will be, forever, the most dateable Disney star."
They've also been friends for years. in 2015, he said this to GQ Australia: "Miley is one of my best friends, and she helps with some of that transitional stuff—trying to escape your childhood. She's super open-minded, and I'm working on becoming more like that."
