Miley Cyrus might’ve broken a late night TV record. Not for her dreaded ponytail, or the first to wear nipple pasties, or even for her ROYGBV ensemble — but for saying the word breast, and all its synonyms, the most amount of times in a single interview.
The singer, who will host the MTV VMAs on Sunday, sat down with Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday in a pantsuit embellished with multi-colored oversized rhinestones. The jacket was only buttoned at the top, revealing nipple pasties underneath. “I’m a little cold. I should’ve worn a shirt,” the 22-year-old said.

Her nakedness acting as an icebreaker (it also worked when meeting Paul McCartney) Kimmel, who has a 23-year-old daughter himself, asked Cyrus what her father thinks when she dresses in her unique way in front of such large audiences. “My dad doesn’t know how to turn on the TV,” she quipped. “He’d rather have me with my tits out and being a good person than have my shirt on and be a bitch.”
The “Wrecking Ball” artist, who also wore gummy candy-shaped earrings and emoji jewelry, went on to question people’s anxiousness surrounding boobs. “The humans aren’t afraid of the human breast. It’s the nipple that’s the issue,” she astutely noted. “I’m showing my boobs and no one has a problem but the nipples are covered so somehow that’s OK. So America is actually fine with tits, it’s nipples they don’t like,” she said, and proceeded to point out that everyone has them, even Kimmel. “The nipple what you can’t show everyone has but, “ she grabs herself, “the jug part that everyone doesn’t you’re allowed to show underboob. I’ve never understood the way that works.”

Cyrus catching a pastie from sliding off, with Kimmel dying of laughter, he responded, “I think I need to go to the hospital.” But before things got to that point, she pointed out that the pasties were very secure, adhered with sticky glue and lots of tape, which she travels with, and they come off like a band-aid. She was going to wear light-up LED nipples — they make them in every shape (and hopefully size) — but the heart-shaped ones went better with the ensemble.
For those wanting to emulate Cyrus’ style, Hollywood Boulevard is where her entire wardrobe is from, so you Instagram commenters that mistake her pasties for #Givenchy, know that she only spends $1 for a pack of four. Not only frugal, she’s also eco-friendly, and will probably move to a nudist colony one day, never covering up for the rest of her life following a trip to a naked beach once where she discovered that skin sags and “gravity is gnarly.” She’ll be unclothed forever. It’s payback.
How many times was that? Lost count when the conversation took a turn towards vegan nudism.
