Miley Cyrus Wore Dark Red Nail Polish for Her Winter Wedding to Liam Hemsworth

The burgundy manicure was perfect for a Christmas-week wedding, and her hair and makeup were timeless and simple.

Miley Cyrus's beauty look has evolved dramatically over the years. Although she looked like the tween-next-door when we first met her as Hannah Montana, she spent a solid part of the 2010s unabashedly experimenting with her hair and makeup. But it seems her days of platinum undercuts and face stickers are behind her for now, based on her recent looks — especially at her wedding to Liam Hemsworth last Sunday (which, unlike last year's misinterpreted Instagram post from dad Billy Ray Cyrus, was the real deal this time).

In fact, Cyrus's wedding look may very well be even more low-key than how she's worn her hair and makeup for recent public appearances and performances, which have often incorporated red lips and ponytails. Instead, to tie the knot with her longtime love, photos posted to Instagram by her parents show she opted for a smooth, deeply side-parted blowout of her currently dark-blonde hair. Instead of a bold lip or shimmery shadow, Cyrus wore a no-makeup makeup look, with a barely-there lip color, mascara-enhanced eyes, clean yet matte skin, and perfectly groomed brows. Her off-the-shoulder Vivienne Westwood gown allowed some of her arm tattoos to show.

The boldest element of Cyrus's look was arguably her manicure. Vogue notes that, instead of going for a traditional sheer shade of pink or beige so often chosen by brides, she went with what appears to be a dark red nail polish. The burgundy shade is perfect for a winter wedding, especially during Christmas week, and especially on Cyrus's not-very-long nails.

Cyrus and Hemsworth met nearly a decade ago while filming the Nicholas Sparks movie The Last Song, where their first kiss happened on the first day of shooting, according to a 2010 Collider interview. And although they broke off their 2012 engagement, they've now had the first of what will hopefully be many kisses as a happily married couple — some with red lipstick and some without.
