Queer women have absolutely dominated the Grammy nominations this year!

The 2024 Grammy nominations have been announced, and it's a great year for queer music! Queer artists including Miley Cyrus, boygenius, Brandy Clark, Ice Spice, Allison Russell, and Victoria Monét are leading the pack of 2024 Grammy nominees, each with four or more nominations.
While queer women had a great year, other queer artists also got a good share of nominations, including Troye Sivan, Brothers Osborne, and Janelle Monáe.
Here’s a look at the queer nominees we’ll be rooting for this year. Other queer artists who were nominated for one award each include Rufus Wainwright, and songwriters Shane McAnally and Justin Tranter.
Victoria Monét - 7 Nominations
Bisexual singer/songwriter Victoria Monét had a breakthrough year, leading all nominees with 7 nominations, including for Record of the Year, Best R&B Album, and Best New Artist. She has three Grammy nominated songs this year: "On My Mama," "How Does It Make You Feel," and "Hollywood."
boygenius - 6 Nominations
This was the year of boygenius. The band, with queer members Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy Dacus, and Julien Baker, scored six nominations this year, inlcuidng Record and Album of the Year for "Not Strong Enough" and "The Record." They also scored nominations in the Alternative Music Performance and Album categories, as well as Best Rock Performance and Song. Phoebe Bridgers scored a 7th nomintion for the song "Ghost in the Machine" with SZA.
Miley Cyrus - 6 Nominations
Miley Cyrus scored her first Grammy nominations since 2015 with her huge album Endless Summer Vacation. The album is nominated for Album of the Year, as well as Pop Vocal Album. Her song "Flowers" is also nominated for Record and Song of the Year, as well as Pop Solo Performance. Another song from the album, "Thousand Miles," featuring Brandi Carlile, is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
Brandy Clark - 6 Nominations
Country singer Brandy Clark has recieved 9 Grammy nominations in the past ten years, and scored six more today. She's nominated for Best Americana Album, as well as Best Country Solo Performance and Song for "Buried," and Best Americana Performance and American Roots Song for "Dear Insecurity" with Brandi Carlile.
Ice Spice - 4 Nominations
One of the biggest breakout artists of the year, rapper Ice Spice is up for four awards in her first Grammys. She's nominated for Best New Artist and is up for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her feature on Taylor Swift's "Karma," and for Best Rap Song and Song Written for Visual Media for "Barbie World" with Nicki Minaj.
Allison Russell - 4 Nominations
Out100 honoree and singer-songwriter Allison Russell is up for four Grammys this year, including Americana Album for The Returner, American Roots Performance for "Eve is Black" and Americana Performance and American Roots Song for "The Returner."
Troye Sivan - 2 Nominations
Troye Sivan became a first-time Grammy nominee this year! The 28-year-old singer scored a nomination for Best Pop Dance Recording for his song "Rush," where he'll go up against gay icon Kylie Minogue for her song "Padam Padam." "Rush" is also up for Best Music Video.
Janelle Monáe - 2 Nominations
Janelle Monáe scored two nominations this year, including Album of the Year for The Age of Pleasure, which also got nommed in the Progressive R&B Album category.
Brothers Osborne - 2 Nominations
Brothers Osborne, featuring gay singer T.J. Osborne, scored two nominations, including Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance.
