Miley Cyrus Shows Off New Dark Hair Color Transformation As She Goes Brunette After 10 Years Of Being Blonde

Miley Cyrus just went back to brown tresses! As many fans will recall, the “Flowers” hitmaker, 30, first rose to fame back in the day as a brunette in her teenage years on Hannah Montana.

For the past ten years, Cyrus has experimented with different lengths and highlight colors, but consistently sported blonde locks. Now, as seen in her latest Instagram post for her 214 million followers, she is returning to her roots with her natural hair color.

On September 25th, the “Used To Be Young” singer shared three new grainy and artsy photos of herself with newly brown hair. She donned a black coat while posing outdoors and sitting in a white wire chair. Cyrus held onto a firey red Horsebit Chain bag from the label for the new snaps, and used her caption as an opportunity to congratulate fashion designer Sabato De Sarno on his latest Gucci collection.

“@sabatods Congratulations on your beautiful debut show as creative director @Gucci,” Cyrus wrote. She added: “Your stunning heart was shown in every stitch. I love you & am so proud. Now give me everything.”

Naturally, fans couldn’t get enough of the “Jaded” crooner’s new (and beloved) look, and headed to her comment section to share their thoughts. (Cyrus, as Page Six notes, first went blonde back in 2012!)

“MILEY BEING BRUNETTE AGAIN!!!” one fan commented as another added: “OMG YOU ARE TOTALLY BROWN AGAIN. FINALLY. IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS MOMENT FOR LIKE 10 YEARS.” Someone else chimed in: “I thought this was a pic from 2009 whatttt” as one other wrote: “YOU LOOK ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! OBSESSED WITH YOUR HAIR OMGG.”

Throughout her career, Cyrus has donned a variety of daring hairstyles, including a striking black-and-blonde, choppy highlights, a platinum pixie cut, and a daring dark blonde mullet. Last year, Cyrus credited her godmother and legendary country singer, Dolly Parton, for inspiring her to maintain her blonde locks for an extended period of time.

Cyrus said in a Today Show interview with Hoda Kotb in December 2022: “I’ve never seen Dolly actually scared before.” Cyrus remembered telling Parton, 77, about her plans to switch up her hair and how this frightened the “Jolene” singer.

“I told her, you know, ‘At the end of the year, I was really wanting to do something different. I think I’m going to dye my hair brunette,” Cyrus added. “She acted like I told her the worst news you could imagine,” Cyrus joked, telling Kotb that Parton “clutched her pearls, gasped” and told her, “You can’t do that. You are me.”
