Maybe don't call Miley Cyrus' relationship with Cody Simpson just a fling. The singer revealed on her Instagram Story yesterday evening that she and Simpson already defined their relationship, and he's her "boyfriend." Whether their relationship is exclusive and how serious things really are, only they know. But Cyrus' new boyfriend did pay a visit to her at the hospital, where she's being treated for tonsillitis, and literally serenaded her with a song he wrote about her. Cyrus shared footage, and it's pretty cute:

The singer shared a shot of herself in bed, writing, "BF coming to visit me @ the hospy," then posted a photo of Simpson and her together there. She also revealed that the man came armed with roses. "Arrived with roses and a guitar in his hand," she captioned the photo of him with the sobbing emoji. "#ImNotCrying #YoureCrying."

Cyrus ended her relationship with Kaitlynn Carter two and a half weeks ago and announced her separation from her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth in August. The singer defended herself on Twitter when people attacked her from moving on from Carter and Hemsworth so quickly. (Cyrus and Simpson were seen making out at an açaí bowl eatery in Los Angeles last Thursday.)

"I am trying to just THRIVE/survive in a 'man's' world," she wrote, pointing out the double standard between the way men and women's dating behavior is viewed. "If we can’t beat 'em, join 'em! If our president can 'grab 'em by the pussy….' can’t I just have a kiss and açaí bowl?!?!"

She then admitted she's just figuring her love life out, the way any other newly-single twentysomething is. "This 'dating' thing is new to me too. I’ve never been an 'adult'/ grown ass woman experiencing this," she wrote. "I was in a committed relationship for almost all my teens and early 20s, with the exception of a few breaks, which usually in those times I was working my ass off with not much R&R, and 'meeting / trusting' people in my position is really tuff. Don’t fucking pity me, not what I’m asking for. I have a great life; I wouldn’t trade for 'privacy,' but PLEASE don’t make this awkward for me! I am trying to make light and like always MAKE FUN of myself / and the public’s perception of me! Get used to me dating—this is where I am at! #HotGirlFall"
