Miley Cyrus Performs at Beale Street Music Festival
Miley Cyrus took fans by surprise when she showed up at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee to perform alongside Marc Cohn. According to Billboard, the two musicians took the stage together on Saturday, May 4, to perform Marc’s song “Walking in Memphis.”
But Miley didn’t leave the crowd wanting; she also performed a handful of her own bops, including “Nothing Breaks Like a Heart” and “We Can’t Stop.” She also performed her iconic 2009 hit, “Party in the U.S.A.,” much to husband Liam Hemsworth’s delight. The actor posted a video to his Instagram stories while scream-singing the lyrics to the chorus, albeit sliiiiightly off key. “Hey, Miley, Miley!” he shouts at one point, trying to get the singer-songwriter’s attention. Could these two be any cuter?
However, plot twist! It turns out that Miley isn’t as much of a fan of the song as Liam (or the rest of us, TBQH). “I hate it, but for some reason, the people love it,” she says in another video on her IG stories. That’s right, Miley, the people do love it! Luckily, she seems pretty cool with giving the people what they want — and Liam, too, who was spotted in the crowd at the Beale Street Music Festival, jamming out just as hard as the fans. We stan a supportive husband!
Miley and Liam have sure been busy as of late. Just a few days prior to the concert, the celeb duo was spotted at the Avengers: Endgame premiere, where they staged a dramatic (and stylish) fake fight. Leave it to #Miam to always turn a glamorous appearance into a funny one, like the time Liam photobombed his wife on the way to to a fancy pre-Oscars dinner party.
Despite their affinity for public LOLs, Miley and Liam kept their December wedding extremely low-key. “We know how we feel about each other,” Liam said while describing their nuptials earlier this year. “We just wanted to do something simple, organic, and with immediate family…it was a really, really special day.”
