Miley Cyrus is currently recovering from one hell of an operation. The singer, known for her raspy, soulful pipes, has just undergone vocal cord surgery.

A source close to Miley recently told People magazine that she's resting up at home and is “doing great and will be back and better than ever early next year.”

Miley initially learned there was a issue with her vocal cords when she was hospitalised last month with tonsillitis. While there's no doubt she's been in good hands, she now needs to spend several weeks in silence in order to fully rest her vocal cords.

So that’s no jamming, no singing, no recording and certainly no performing to sell-out crowds for the ‘Mother’s Daughter’ singer. Also, she won't be releasing any new tracks till 2020.

Just as he’s never left her Instagram feed since her previous hospitalisation, Miley’s boyfriend Cody Simpson is not leaving her side in the coming weeks.

On Friday, the Aussie shared a sweet black-and-white photo of the two of them with the word “success” on his Instagram story.

26-year-old Miley has hinted about the surgery for a while. In late October, she posted on her Instagram story that she was dipping out of music for a bit, stating: “On vocal rest not body.”

The last time she performed live was soon after her split from girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter.

Enjoy the silence, Miley, because after the release your last album (She Is Coming) we’re incredibly keen for the new beats in 2020!
