Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were rebuilding the Malibu home they lost in the Woolsey Fire last year. Whether either of them will live in it again, time will tell...but Cyrus, at the very least, is staying very close by it. Yahoo Australia reports that the singer has is living in a "bachelorette pad" right next door to her and Hemsworth's old house, a three-bedroom rancher.

This isn't a surprising move: The couple bought that second house for $2.5 million when they were still together. It was not destroyed in the fire.

Neither Hemsworth nor Cyrus are in the United States right now. Cyrus was last in Italy on her vacation with new fling Kaitlynn Carter and her sister Brandi Cyrus. Hemsworth has been photographed in Australia, where he has been staying with his family.

A source told People last night that Cyrus “really fought to make it work” with Hemsworth. “She wanted to go to therapy. She just wants to be in a healthy and focused place.”

A source close to Cyrus added that “Miley took [the fire] a lot harder than Liam did, and he is the one who helped her get through it and realize everything would be okay, She even said it all the time herself, that he was her ‘survival partner.’ She took their commitment to marriage seriously and was so excited about being married once she realized it’s what she wanted.”

Entertainment Tonight spoke to a source about how Hemsworth is doing. That source didn't rule out Cyrus and Hemsworth trying again eventually. "Miley and Liam love each other and always will," the source said. "Most of their friends feel they'll be back together. No one thinks Miley and Kaitlynn are in a real relationship, they believe it's more fun on vacation."
