Miley Cyrus's summer romance is no more, according to a new report.

The "Slide Away" singer had been linked to Brody Jenner's ex-wife, Kaitlynn Carter, since they were spotted kissing by the pool while on vacation together. However, People is now reporting that Cyrus and Carter have decided to go back to being just friends. Per People's source, "Miley and Kaitlynn broke up."

The publication's source confirmed, "They’ve been friends forever and were there for each other when they were both getting separated." But their summer romance appears to have cooled off and "they’re just not in a romantic relationship anymore," People's source said.

Carter split from her husband of a year, Brody Jenner, in early August, although it was revealed post-split that the couple's marriage had never been made legal.

Cyrus was married to Liam Hemsworth for almost eight months before they announced their separation in August. Hemsworth filed for divorce soon after citing "irreconcilable differences." Despite only having been married for a short time, Hemsworth and Cyrus had been dating on-and-off for a decade, after meeting during the production of the Nicholas Sparks movie, The Last Song.

Hemsworth and Cyrus wed in a secret, at-home ceremony in December 2018. The bride wore a Vivienne Westwood made-to-order bridal gown for the occasion.
