Miley Cyrus Just Shaded the Hell Out of the MTV VMAs on Instagram

• Miley wasn’t nominated and there's little chance she'll show up and perform.

Lesson learned: Do not f*ck with Miley Cyrus' freedom or her MTV VMA nominations.

A few days ago, the 2019 Video Music Award nominations were announced, and artists like Ariana Grande, Lil Nas X, Cardi B, BTS, and Taylor Swift were all nominated. Unfortunately for Miley, she was not among those final few artists who now face a voting block made up of MTV viewers. The VMA nominations are typically filled with drama (remember that Nicki Minaj and Taylor beef?), and this year is no different.

After the noms were announced, Miley fan accounts jumped to defend her on Instagram. One posted a photo of the “Mother’s Daughter” singer and wrote, “Guess I’m not watching the VMAS this year 🤷🏼♂️ unless Miley performs,” to which Miley responded, “No f*ckin way 🖤.”

Okay, this comment could mean one of two things: Either there’s no effing way she’s performing or she just can’t believe that someone would boycott the VMAs because she’s not there. Her power, amirite? But judging by another comment she left on another fan page, it’s safe to say the first interpretation is much more accurate.

According to E!, Cyrus commented “exactly” when two fans on the other IG post wrote, “They care more about a f—king green screen than a message to the world,” and “Nominate anyone but at least do not use the image of Miley to promote their damn prizes @vmas and #SheIsComing #Peace.”

Guess that means Miley doesn’t want her controversial foam finger used on any promo material until she sees some nominations!

As for who else might be performing during the ceremony, it’s hard to say right now. Usually people who are nominated get up on the stage, but MTV hasn’t announced any performers just yet. And while Ariana is nominated for 10 awards, she likely won’t show because she’s on tour right now.

Well, this is gearing up to be an interesting night.
