Miley Cyrus Just Addressed the Rumor She Feuded With Demi and Selena During Their Disney Years

Let me take you back to 2009: Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato, and Selena Gomez were all queens on Disney Channel, and there were rumors that they hated one another. Well, it was more so Cyrus versus Gomez and Lovato. There were opposing YouTube channels, squabbles over boys—all the makings of catfight fodder that fed tabloids for years.

But none of it was grounded in reality. Gomez confirmed as much in 2016, telling W magazine that she and Cyrus "never feuded." And now Cyrus is echoing this sentiment. In a new interview with Capital FM, the Younger Now singer says there was never any competition among herself, Gomez, and Lovato. She mentioned this while defending these lyrics in her new song "Cattitude": “I love you Nicki, but I listen to Cardi.” Some fans thought these words were fueling the alleged feud between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, but Cyrus says they do just the opposite.

"I don’t think there is beef now anymore," Cyrus told Capital FM in regards to the rappers. "I think that you’re allowed to enjoy two artists who fill a similar lane."

Just as fans can enjoy Cyrus' music and Gomez's and Lovato's. "I just always grew up collaborating with Selena [Gomez] and Demi [Lovato], and there was never competition. Ariana [Grande] is one of my best friends," she said.

Listen to Cyrus explain this for yourself in the clip, below.

Cyrus further quashed rumors of any beef by posting pics from her concert over the weekend and captioning them, "I love you Selena but I listen to Demi" and "I love you me but I listen to Ari"

And in March she uploaded this video of her and Gomez rocking out at the 2008 Teen Choice Awards:

So it's quite clear there was never any actual drama between these women. Just people looking for it, which, sadly, is nothing new.
