Miley Cyrus Cut Her Hair Into a Bowl Cut–Mullet Hybrid and I Bow Down

From Cosmopolitan

  • Miley Cyrus cut her mullet into a shorter pixie style.

  • With the help of her mom, Tish Cyrus, and celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger, Miley pulled off a hip bowl cut–mullet hybrid.

  • Miley posted rock icons Debbie Harry and Cherie Currie as her inspiration.

As many of our quarantine haircuts continue to be bad ideas that a hundred percent could’ve been avoided, Miley Cyrus is over here getting the hairstyle of her dreams. Thanks to celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger and Miley’s mom, Tish Cyrus, Miley took her chicer-than-Joe-Exotic mullet and transformed it into a “pixie mullet.” One could also call it a bowl cut–mullet hybrid, but the bottom line is the same: Miley’s new hair transformation is so unique, so her, and should only be done under the guidance of a professional. (Seriously, trying this at home is a recipe for disaster.)

The Bright Minded host has been owning her shaggy “modern mullet” for months, and Sally was actually the one who helped her achieve the style in the first place. At the time, Sally told E!, “Miley wanted to go more punk. She wanted something edgy,” and it seems like Miley was ready to level up this week.

Yesterday, Miley took to her Instagram Stories to post photos of mullet-loving rock icons Debbie Harry and Cherie Currie. And shortly after, she revealed her new style.

Sally also shared the cut on her Instagram and wrote, “I trained Tish well!” suggesting Miley’s mom was actually the one who wielded the scissors. Impressive!

As much as I’d love to enlist my mother’s help with a cut, I’m still recovering from the time she tried to give me “a little trim,” so I’ll be patiently waiting until it’s actually safe to go to the hair salon.
