Miley Cyrus made it clear that she is fully supporting Britney Spears in her petition to end her oppressive conservatorship, chanting “free Britney” with fans at her Las Vegas concert on July 4.

Miley changed the lyrics of her iconic song “Party in the U.S.A.” from “the taxi man turned on the radio and a Jay-Z song was on” to “the taxi man turned on the radio, he turned to me and said, ‘Free Britney, free Britney!’” According to Entertainment Tonight, Miley also told the crowd, “We love Jay-Z, but we got to free this bitch! It’s stressing me the fuck out!”

Check out the video of the moment below, where you can hear a ton of fans cheering along in solidarity with Britney.

As a reminder, Britney addressed a courtroom directly about her conservatorship for the first time publicly on June 23, 2021, saying, “I’ve lied and told the whole world I’m okay and I’m happy. If I said that enough, maybe I’d become happy…I’m in shock. I’m traumatized…I’m so angry it’s insane.”

She added, “I’m scared of people. I don’t trust people with what I’ve been through,” when asked about seeing another psychiatric specialist. “It’s not okay to force me to do anything I don’t want to do.…I truly believe this conservatorship is abusive. I don’t feel like I can live a full life.”

Since Britney’s courtroom address, a Los Angeles judge denied her request to remove her father, Jamie, from her conservatorship. Extremely disappointing news…however, Deadline reports that another hearing is scheduled for July 14—so a million fingers crossed that this conservatorship will end soon.
