Mila Kunis & Ashton Kutcher Are Saying No to Kids' Christmas Gifts This Year

Mila Kunis revealed she and Ashton Kutcher aren’t giving their children Christmas gifts this year, and their reasoning is beyond genius.

Kunis opened up about her two children, Wyatt Isabelle, 3, and Dimitri Portwood, 11 months, and how her own childhood affected her understanding of holiday traditions, in an interview last week. She said, “I come from communist Russia, where you’re not allowed to be happy, so my holiday traditions are ‘be quiet.’ Coming to America is when you realize Christmas has a magical quality to it.”

The Bad Moms star went on to reveal that her upbringing and the couple’s previous experiences with their oldest child, Wyatt, inspired a new Kunis-Kutcher household rule: no Christmas gifts. She continued, “We’re instituting it this year because when the kids are [younger than] 1, it doesn’t really matter. Last year when we celebrated Christmas, Wyatt was 2 and it was too much. We didn’t give her anything—it was the grandparents.” She continued, “The kid no longer appreciates the one gift. They don’t even know what they’re expecting; they’re just expecting stuff.”

Kunis is asking friends and family to respect to their new rule and is even offering alternative options. She added, “We’re begging you—if you have to give her something, pick one gift. Otherwise, we’d like to take a charitable donation to the Children’s Hospital [of Los Angeles] or a pet [or] whatever you want. That’s our new tradition.”

We don’t hate it.
