If you needed proof that opposites attract, look no further than Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher. When it comes to their birth charts, the couple basically has nothing in common…and according to astrologers, that’s a good thing.

“Mila is a double Leo—both her Sun and Mars are in this fiery, creative sign. And Ashton is what we call a quadruple Aquarius with most of his natal planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, and Venus) in this cool, intellectual sign,” says Narayna Montúfar, senior astrologer at Astrology.com and Horoscope.com. And because their sun signs are directly opposite each other, they’re constantly learning from each other. Sure, “they disagree and have ego clashes occasionally,” Montúfar explains, but in the end, their ability to accept the other for who they are brings balance and excitement to the marriage.

See, as a Leo in a relationship with an Aquarius, it’s likely Mila’s learned about collaboration, “especially in creative projects,” says intuitive astrologer Rachel Lang. And for Ashton, the cerebral Aquarius, he’s learned how to express his emotions, especially his passions, thanks to Mila. Combined, Mila’s generous Leo and Ashton’s humanitarian Aquarius are constantly working on ways they can make the other happy.

Despite their differences, this couple just gets each other in ways that could have only been destined by the stars. Ahead, every way astrology’s factored into Mila and Ashton’s marriage.

Saturn's given them staying power.

Saturn, the planet of limitation, restriction, and stability, does this thing where it makes things really difficult every seven years, Lang explains. "Seven-year itch" sound familiar? Yeah, it's not cool. But when couples like Ashton and Mila, who've got Saturn represented all over their charts, continually make it past the seven-year mark, it's a biggie.

Saturn forces what Lang calls "uncomfortable growth phases" and "when couples make it through those rough patches, they come out stronger and more committed than ever." Suddenly, Saturn is the glue in a relationship. And for the couple who has known each other since 1998, that's a helluva lot of a lot of glue.

Lang likes to look at Saturn's presence as a positive. "Relationships without tension are boring," she says. Though Mila and Ashton can sometimes feel like the other is critical of them, it's really because they hold the other to such a high standard.

Mila's Sun makes Ashton feel safe and secure.

"When Ashton met Mila, he likely felt an immediate sense of being at home with her," says Lang. Because his moon, the planet that rules our emotions, is positioned opposite Mila's sun, Ashton's always feel stable when Mila is around. It's a dependability Lang says has probably factored into the way they raise their children together because Mila's sun is also in Ashton's fourth house—which is all about family.

They have Mars to thank for the similarities they do share.

"The one planet Mila and Ashton respond to in the same way is Mars," says Montúfar. It's positioned in different places in each of their charts, but closely enough for them to speak the same language when it comes to drive, ambition, and intimacy, she adds. It's great that they can often put their differences aside, but they don't have to when it comes to these aspects of their relationship.

Neptune connects them spiritually.

Think of Neptune as creating a psychic connection. Because of the way the planet is positioned, Mila and Ashton couldn't help but gravitate toward each other, Lang says. The planet has a "highly romantic and spiritual influence." As a result, Mila and Ashton share the same dreams and they're better able to build a future together.
