When it was announced earlier this month that Jake Paul would face off in an exhibition fight against Mike Tyson, the general reception was that the YouTuber-turned-pro boxer was essentially signing his death warrant. And after Tyson shared video of the start of his training this week, it seems unlikely that any minds will be changed.

Indeed, it seems like Iron Mike has still very much got it, as evidenced by the video of the 57-year-old sparring with his trainer, which he posted to social media on Wednesday. "It’s day 1, the fun just begun," Tyson says at the end of the video, in which he demonstrated his lightning-fast moves.

In all fairness to Paul, the 27-year-old has earned himself an impressive 9–1 boxing record in the four years since making his professional boxing debut in early 2020, with six knockouts. And not to mention, the former heavyweight champion has also got nearly three decades on Paul, who will be 28 at the time of the fight.

Yet Tyson is still widely regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time, having reigned as the undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. As such, the reaction to Tyson's video hasn't been much different from when the fight was initially announced, with many users resorting to simply posting reaction GIFs and memes to indicate how doomed Paul is going to be.

The Ballislife Bets X account even used a GIF of Paul against him, to demonstrate what the influencer must be thinking having watched the video.

For better or worse, the highly-anticipated fight between Tyson and Paul will take place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and stream exclusively on Netflix.
