Mikaela Shiffrin Inches Closer To 100 Career Victories With Back To Back Wins In Austria

Mikaela Shiffrin, alpine ski racing's undeniable G.O.A.T., is writing history with nearly every race she competes in.

Shiffrin started the season strong with three wins before mid-December, and just capped off a monumental 2023 with two victories at Lienz, Austria. Check out her winning Slalom run on December 29th, 2023:

Shiffrin bested the second place competitor by a whopping 2.34 seconds, an eternity in slalom. The victory marks the 93rd of her historic career, and her 12th Slalom victory in Austria.

She now sits 10 wins ahead of Ingemar Stenmark's previous record of 83 career victories that was once believed to be insurmountable.

Today's victory was the icing on the cake after she took 1st in yesterday's Giant Slalom competition at Lienz. Check out her winning run below:

What a treat to play witness to not only the greatest skier of all-time, but arguably one of the most dominant athletes in human history.

Shiffrin's ability to consistently win races despite the laundry list of variables in ski racing places her in the same conversation as names like Michael Jordan, Lionel Messi, Tom Brady, and Serena Williams.
