Shiffrin’s 94th career win came 9 days after she did not finish the slalom race in Slovenia with a cold, and two days after visiting her partner Aleksander Kilde in the hospital visit after his downhill crash.

Kilde's season is, unfortunately, over after he received shoulder and leg injuries in a crash near the finish of a World Cup downhill in Wengen, Switzerland, on Saturday.

Needless to say, it has definitely been a trying week for Shiffrin, and this win in Flachau, Austria, came at the best time possible.

The Slalom course was a bit choppy, but Mikaela kept a high and tight line, tactically and cleanly flying through the gates and punching them down, keeping rhythm.

Shiffrin's brother Taylor, and sister-in-law Kristi, were in attendance to support Mikaela during her race.

Shiffrin was trailing Petra Vlhova by a mere .07 seconds heading into their second slalom run.

However, Shiffrin ended up taking first, extending her record-setting career World Cup win total to an incredible 94.

One thing that always amazes me about Mikaela is how still her upper body stays while her legs swing around the gates. She has such defined angles through her skis while her upper body is just perfectly quiet.

You don't earn the title "the Princess of Slalom" for nothing!

The reporter in the above video took note of the vibes on scene, noting that "this is big. This is an emotional finish for these ladies."

"They're such friendly rivals, it's awesome."

Congrats, Mikaela, you earned this one (and the almost 100 other wins at this point, too)!

Let's keep it coming!
