Migos Take the Met in Versace Suits—And Major Bling, Of Course
Migos did a complete 180 from their matching minimal all-black Versace suits from last year’s Met Gala.
At last year’s Met Gala, Migos kept their color palette minimal in order to let their enviable collection of jewelry shine. The Atlanta-based trio wore simple, all-black matching Versacesuits, which made with their layered diamond and silver chains look all the more dramatic. Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff have a penchant for decked-out suits—they wore gold and black bejeweled Julien Macdonald jackets to the Grammys earlier this year—but on this year’s Met Gala red carpet, the hip-hop trio added some more range of color to this tried-and-true formula.
The rappers yet again went with looks from the Italian house, but they took things in an even gaudier direction: Offset, Quavo, and Takeoff each wore a complementary sequined Versace suit jacket with colorful accents ranging from burnt orange to hot pink. They paired the bold blazers with simple black slacks and muted loafers and Oxfords, which really made the vibrant hues of their jackets pop. But in case that sounds like they were stepping out of their comfort zone: Migos may be incorporating more color into their formal wardrobe, but they’ll never show up to an event without some of their signature gleaming diamond chains.
