Snapchat’s Lenses are hands down (face down?) the most fun thing about the app. And now the company is working on having Snapchat Lenses affect more real-life objects other than your face. Snapchat’s World Lenses already let you place animation on top of the objects surrounding you. But the new lenses that Snapchat is working on will actually let you animate real-life objects, which means only one thing — watch out for clouds throwing up rainbows!!

The tech website The Information reported the news that these Snapchat smart Lenses will “identify environmental elements, letting someone layer an object like a blimp in the sky.”

That means that just like the Lenses can identify your face, the new Lenses will be able to identify objects around you that you can then animate.

While you’ve most likely been missing the Lens that allowed you to throw up a rainbow, the World Lenses released in November 2016 let you make a cloud appear to be doing the same thing.

But this new Snapchat lens technology will take it one step further and will make it look like an ACTUAL, REAL-LIFE CLOUD is barfing a rainbow.

And we thought just having a fake cloud barf rainbows in the real sky with real clouds was good enough.

These new Lenses aren’t available yet and, of course, you’ll be able to do more things than just make clouds throw up rainbows, but can you blame us for being a bit fixated? We’ve really missed that Snapchat Lens!
