We Might Never Know Who Killed Alison on ‘Saint X’ 😭
Three episodes in and I’m already scouring Reddit for more info on Saint X. I’ve been craving some low-key, chill murder mystery content since the White Lotus ended, and this miniseries just so happened to come at the right time. ICYMI, Saint X is Hulu’s latest book-to-show adaptation and features Fear the Walking Dead star Alycia Jasmin Debnam-Carey and Breaking Bad alum Betsy Brandt in starring roles. Basically, the show is about a young woman named Emily who begins investigating her sister’s 2005 murder after recent evidence appears. Sounds like your plain Jane Law and Order episode, but I promise you it’s good. The performances from the cast are ah-freaking-mazing, and you’ll never guess what happens at the end (unless you’ve read the book, which if you’ve had, you can skedaddle on down the page for season 2 news).
And like any good murder mystery show that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats and nail beds chewed down from stress, fans (i.e. me, hello) want to know if a season 2 is underway. Hence, why I stumbled down the darkest, deepest parts of Reddit, Twitter, and the internet to find the 411 on the second season of Saint X. The results of my investigation lie below.
Saint X is a miniseries, so it won’t have a second season, right?
Actually (!!), some miniseries have been renewed for another season because the fan base couldn’t live without more. (Lol kidding, but that’s usually how miniseries return for another season: the fans). Remember the White Lotus, The Night Agent, and Big Little Lies? Yep, it’s v possible that Hulu can renew Saint X if the show is popular enough to demand it.
Say the show is renewed, what will the show be about?
Okay, this is a tough one ‘cause the show is based on a novel by Alexis Schaitkin, and there isn’t any source material for season 2. That said, never say never. Especially since the show ends on a cliffhanger. I won't spoil it for you here, though! But I will say the ending is more ambiguous. So, a second season could go more in-depth about Emily, her family, grief, race, and all that. Only time will tell.
Cool, so when will we find out about season 2?
Chill, the show just came out, and not all episodes are out yet. Usually, it takes a couple of months before there’s news of a renewal. Considering the show’s finale airs at the end of May, I’d say we’ll hear about season 2 in early fall maybe? But again, just a guess.
