Microsoft Seemingly Reveals Sony PlayStation 5 Slim and Pro

According to reports, Microsoft has seemingly revealed the upcoming release of Slim and Pro models of the Sony PlayStation 5. The news comes amidst various rumors and the third anniversary of Sony's PS5 being on the market.

In court documents for its FTC trial regarding the eternal acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft noted expectations of Sony releasing the PlayStation 5 Slim "later this year." The documents also interestingly note a retail price of $399.99 USD, though it is unclear what is fueling Microsoft's expectations. The section of the court document, titled "The Console Market Must Include Nintendo," highlights the Supreme Court falsely assuming Sony and Microsoft's consoles are "offered at a similar price," pointing to the similar pricing of the Xbox Series S and Nintendo Switch. "PlayStation likewise sells a less expensive Digital Edition for $399.99, and is expected to release a PlayStation 5 Slim later this year at the same reduced price point."

The document goes on to touch on Sony's Project Q, "Sony is also anticipated to release a handheld version of the PlayStation 5 later this year for under $300," before mentioning the PlayStation 5 Pro coming in the near future.
