Microsoft Will Pay You $650 to Get Rid of Your MacBook

From Good Housekeeping

Would you trade in your MacBook for some extra cash? Microsoft will pay you up to $650 for your MacBook Pro or MacBook Air if you trade it in for a Surface Book or Surface Pro at a Microsoft Store or Microsoft.com, according to the Windows blog.

To be eligible for the trade-in deal, your MacBook and all its accessories have to be fully functioning - so if you've ever had to take it in for repairs or have signs of wear and tear, you're out of luck. The good news is it doesn't matter how old your MacBook is, because they're appraising and accepting basically every old model. If you're interested, get thee to a Microsoft store or check online fast, because they're only running this promotion until November 10, or until supplies last.

Microsoft announced this deal right after Apple's latest keynote address, where they released the next generation of MacBook Pros. The promotion is supposed to help anyone who feels "disappointed by the Mac," Brian Hall, corporate vice president of marketing for Microsoft devices told CNET.

For die-hard Mac fans, trading in your MacBook might seem like giving up your right arm, but in the Good Housekeeping Institute's tablet test, we found that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 actually performs the most like a laptop computer. It can run the full Microsoft Office suite, and you can buy a snap-on keyboard to make it really look and feel like a laptop. It also has some features that you can't find on a Mac laptop, like a front infared LED camera that uses facial recognition to login and a Surface Pen that you can use to write on the screen.

Your move, Mac!
