When you’re a legend with kids, many assume you’d split your millions of dollars amongst them after you pass on, to ensure they’ll be fine for generations to come. Many parents do this, whether they’re a celebrity or not, but quite a few have decided not to leave their children a penny of their fortune, and it is safe to say, that fans aren’t too happy with Mick Jagger for doing so.

During a new interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Ladies & Gentlemen The Rolling Stones star revealed that he doesn’t plan on leaving any of his $500 million fortune to his eight children, saying they don’t need it. Instead, he plans to donate it all to charity so he can “do some good in the world.”

“The children don’t need $500 million to live well. Come on,” he joked to the outlet, instantly sparking outrage.

On X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, many fans questioned this decision, and had a lot of thoughts about leaving his children with none of his money. One X user wrote, “why do so many wealthy people do this? can someone explain?” Other users attacked him for his decision, saying things such as “Can’t take it to the afterlife” and “What a freaking idiot.”

As previously mentioned, Jagger has eight children with five different women. He shares a daughter named, Karis, 52, with Marsha Hunt, and a daughter named Jade, 51, with his ex-wife Bianca Jagger. He also has four children with his ex-wife Jerry Hall named Elizabeth, 39, James, 38, Georgia May, 31, and Gabriel, 25.

He also has a son named Lucas, 24, with model Luciana Morad Gimenez and welcomed a son named Deveraux, 6, with his girlfriend Melanie Hamrick.

Now, Jagger isn’t the only A-lister to make this decision, because stars such as Simon Cowell, Sting, and Elton John have spoken about doing the same thing. However, one of the most recent celebs to do so (and be absolutely roasted for it is Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis.

The news resurfaced about them donating their $275 million fortune to charity instead of giving it to their two kids Wyatt Isabelle and Dimitri Portwood, back in April 2023. And just like Jagger, the internet was seriously split on this controversial parenting decision.
