Oscar-winner Michelle Yeoh shows no signs of stopping after her historic Best Actress win at the Academy Awards for Everything Everywhere All at Once. She recently starred in American Born Chinese on Disney+ and will be in the upcoming Wicked and Avatar movies. Shortly after her win, Yeoh signed onto The Brothers Sun, a new Netflix series about two brothers of a crime family. The eldest brother is one of the top dogs in the crime network while his younger brother has been sheltered his entire life from the truth. Yeoh plays the mother of the young men.

What is The Brothers Sun about?
When the head of a powerful Taiwanese triad is shot by a mysterious assassin, his eldest son, legendary killer Charles “Chairleg” Sun (Justin Chien) heads to Los Angeles to protect his mother, Eileen (Michelle Yeoh), and his naive younger brother, Bruce (Sam Song Li)—who’s been completely sheltered from the truth of his family until now.
But as Taipei’s deadliest societies and a new rising faction go head-to-head for dominance—Charles, Bruce and their mother must heal the wounds caused by their separation and figure out what brotherhood and family truly mean before one of their countless enemies kills them all.

The Brothers Sun was created by Brad Falchuk and Byron Wu. Falchuk is known for shows like Glee, American Horror Story and 9-1-1. Wu also wrote several episodes of The Brothers Sun.

Michelle Yeoh (Mama Sun/Eileen)
The Brothers Sun was one of the first projects Yeoh signed on to do after she won an Oscar for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Everything Everywhere All At Once. She also recently starred in the television adaptation of the popular graphic novel, American Born Chinese on Disney+.

Justin Chien (Charles Sun)
Chien is an up and coming actor who starred in several short films before landing a role on Two Sides: Unfaithful, a series original on SnapChat. This is his first series regular role.

Sam Song Li (Bruce Sun)
Born in China, but raised in Southern California, Li has been building his resume with roles in a variety of shorts and music videos. He has made appearances on Better Call Saul and Never Have I Ever. This is his first series regular role.
