Michelle Yeoh Is Ethereal in a White Feathered Gown at the 2023 Oscars
Michelle Yeoh made her arrival on the 2023 Oscars carpet.
The Everything Everywhere All at Once star and Best Actress nominee looked angelic and regal in a feathered ball gown by Dior Haute Couture.
Her ensemble featured a sweetheart neckline with sheer illusion straps, with tiers of delicate white feathers and tulle falling down the length of the gown. Her accessories included an array of diamond jewelry, composed of a subtle single-strand headband, dangling chandelier earrings, a matching ring, and a wristwatch with a white band.
The Malaysian actress has had a record-breaking awards season so far, becoming the first Asian woman in history to win Best Actress at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, and the second Asian woman to win the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Motion Picture–Comedy or Musical. She is also the first-ever Asian woman to be nominated for Best Actress at the Academy Awards.
In her recent People cover interview, the Crazy Rich Asians star reflected on her decades-long career, which she began through starring in Hong Kong kung-fu films, and receiving so much acclaim in the later part of her professional career.
"A lot of actresses find, as the numbers get bigger, the roles start to dwindle," she told the outlet. "Over the last few years, I'm very proud that we have been breaking away from stereotypes — it's not just lip service. It is happening. And it's happening to me."
"You go from shock to bewilderment," she continued. "'Wow, is it me? How can it be me?' Because I've worked with so many amazing actresses who should have had this privilege, and so I am very grateful to be given the opportunity to sit at the table and to be seen."
