Michelle Williams Is Reportedly Engaged — and Expecting

It's a double dose of big news from Michelle Williams. People confirmed that the four-time Oscar nominee is engaged to Tony-winning director Thomas Kail. The two previously worked together on FX's limited series Fosse/Verdon and along with the news of the engagement, People adds that Williams is also pregnant.

Sources close to the couple note that Williams has been seen shopping for baby clothes in London, where she's currently filming Venom 2. Though there's no news from Williams herself, People reports that she's stopped by Seraphine’s maternity boutique in Kensington. The baby-to-be would be the first child for the couple. Williams has a 14-year-old daughter, Matilda, whom she shared with the late Heath Ledger.

Kail is no stranger to accolades himself. He directed Williams in her Emmy-winning role and has an Emmy himself for directing Grease: Live.

Williams has spoken about raising her daughter as a single mom. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she explained that she never gave up on finding love after Ledger's passing.

"When you're a single parent, and that element of provider and protection is missing, it’s scary," she said. "I always say to Matilda, 'Your dad loved me before anybody thought I was talented, or pretty, or had nice clothes.' I never gave up on love."

Kail was previously married to stage actor Angela Christian. They divorced eight months ago, according to the Daily Mail.

According to the reporting, Williams has not confirmed the news of the engagement.
