  • Michelle Pfeiffer, 65, recently shared that she got a black eye from playing pickleball.

  • She showed her shiner in a no-makeup photo on Instagram—and still managed to look beautiful.

  • The actress credits her glowing complexion to a simple and clean skincare routine.

Pickleball isn’t for the faint of heart, and Michelle Pfeiffer is proving just how hard she’ll go for a W. The Ant Man star, 65, just shared a series of photos on Instagram of herself nursing a black eye from playing the sport.

“WARNING ⚠️ Pickleball-Stay out of the Kitchen!! 😫 Thank you, Less! 🤣,” the actress wrote in the caption. (The kitchen, in case you’re not up to date on your sports lingo, is the area around the net in pickleball.)

The photos definitely tell a story. There's Michelle holding a massive bag of ice over her eye as she gives the camera a knowing look, then, the Scarface star later poses in the bathroom with a smile as her eye looks black and swollen. In the final picture, Michelle gives her Instagram followers an even closer look at her bruiser, which is purple and seems very painful.

People sympathized in the comments—and cheered her on. “But she kept on playing… 💪💪💪😈,” Michelle's sister, Dedee Pfeiffer, wrote. And then actress Emma Caulfield said what we’re all thinking: “Still stunning.”

Michelle’s complexion is seriously glowy, even with that black eye, and she’s made it clear that she works hard to take good care of her skin. She previously told Oprah Daily that she’s all about clean beauty products.

“I have such reactive skin that if I find something that performs and agrees with me, I stick with it,” she said, noting that she’s used Sodashi skincare for a long time. “I saw that the ingredients were mostly natural, and they don’t make me break out,” Michelle shared.

She also keeps her skincare uncomplicated, saying, “I cleanse, I moisturize—that’s it.”

Michelle also previously told Women’s Health that she stopped asking makeup artists to use clean or organic makeup on her after she got weird looks, but she uses different products when she’s not going to an event. “There are products that I know to be super safe, and if I’m not working and won’t be photographed, I’ll use those,” she said. “In terms of makeup, I love the W3ll People mascara. When I’m on film and, God forbid, in high-def, I need the best-performing products. Sadly, I feel like there’s still a bit of a gap between clean products and effective ones.”
