After years of dopamine dressing in bright pinks and neon, the runways are trending back to neutrals. Michael Kors was the latest to adopt a muted color palette for the Fall 2023 show with monochromatic looks in the colors of a decaying forest: Slate gray, brick red, emerald green and snow white frequented the catwalk.

Fringe dresses, low-slung belts and large gemstone necklaces laced the show with a bohemian feel, but the styling imbued New York sophistication. It's an "urban bohemia," per the show notes. Some necklaces resemble the cores of a dead tree, especially in the context of the show's backdrop: Barren tree trunks were plopped throughout the venue.

Big, slouchy bags and crossbodies lead the accessories assortment alongside knee-high boots. Another highlight: The collection's capes are as chic and luxurious as its fur coats, which we could very much see someone like Naomi Campbell wearing.

"Bridgerton"-style orchestral renditions of Fleetwood Mac's "Go Your Own Way" and Jefferson Airplane's "Don't You Want Somebody To Love" played in a loop during the show — a fitting soundtrack for the American designer known for making the classics feel modern.
