Michael Jackson's Son Blanket Makes Rare Appearance on 65th Birthday of Music Icon

Michael Jackson's 21-year-old son, Blanket Jackson, now known as Bigi, made a rare appearance with his brother, Prince Jackson, 26, at an event in honor of what would've been Jackson's 65th birthday.

The two brothers attended the event—which was also the 10th anniversary of Michael Jackson ONE, the Cirque du Soleil production—in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Bigi and Prince greeted fans as members of Michael Jackson's estate held a Q&A session in a theater at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

Bigi appeared with shoulder-length hair while wearing a black button-up short-sleeved t-shirt and black pants, looking at ease standing beside Prince, who wore a gray t-shirt, pants and a hat while interacting with fans.

The event also included a performance from the cast of Michael Jackson ONE, as well as a book signing with Michael Bush, the author of The King of Style: Dressing Michael Jackson. The Cirque du Soleil show first premiered in February 2013, quickly becoming a fan-favorite production.

Unlike his siblings, Jackson's youngest child prefers to stay under the radar, rarely appearing in public at gatherings. Meanwhile, Prince is often seen at events, recently attending the 23rd annual Harold & Carole Pump Foundation Gala earlier this month. In college, Prince founded the charity Heal Los Angeles Foundation with John Muto, and he received a degree in business management from Loyola Marymount University in 2019.

Prince posted on his Instagram in honor of his father's birthday, sharing a photo of the family from years ago along with the message, "Happy birthday dad. I miss you and I love you. You may be gone but not forgotten. You’re in our hearts each and every day. ❤️."

As for Jackson's middle child, Paris Jackson, 25, she's a rising star in the entertainment industry, working as a model and singer. She released her debut album, Wilted, in late 2020, following it up with an EP and a few singles since then, and is currently touring.

The singer took to her Instagram on her father's birthday to open up about her complicated feelings regarding the day, mentioning her father's dislike of birthday celebrations when he was alive.

She also shared a video from her performance that day, telling the audience, "It’s also my dad’s birthday. And he would have been 65 years old today, and he put 50 years of blood, sweat and tears and love and passion into doing what he did, so that I can stand up here on stage in front of you and scream into a microphone."

Jackson was born on Aug. 29, 1958 and passed away on June 25, 2009, from cardiac arrest caused by acute propofol intoxication. He was 50.
