Michael J. Fox Not Against the Idea of a 'Back to the Future' Reboot

During a recent interview with Variety, Michael J. Fox recently shared during a cover story about his life and career that he wouldn't be against a Back to the Future reboot. "I’m not fanatical," said Fox. "Do what you want. It’s your movie. I got paid already."

Though the famed actor noted he doesn't think a reboot would be a good idea and that the trilogy’s director and writer, Robert Zemeckis, and his co-writer, Bob Gale, wouldn't be into the idea. "I think Bob and Bob have been really smart about that. I don’t think it needs rebooting because are you going to clarify something? You’re going to find a better way to tell the story? I doubt it."

Fox also touched on if he has even been approached about another Back to the Future film, "I’m sure somebody thought about it. But I was in the early stages of Parkinson’s at that point, so I don’t know that I would have wanted to take that on. Right after ‘Part Three’ had done well, there might have been conversations about it, but I never got involved in them."

Michael J. Fox's co-star Christopher Lloyd was more optimistic, sharing that he "would love to do a sequel." "But if somebody has a brilliant idea that would justify a fourth film it might happen."
