Michael Fassbender gazing adoringly at Alicia Vikander is giving us goosebumps

There are some love stories that only seem possible in movies thanks to incredible writers, actors and directors who take the unrealistic and make us believe.

Then we see photos like this one of Michael Fassbender and his girlfriend Alicia Vikander and we get tingly because they’re proof that the movie kind of love can be very real.

The real-life couple walked the red carpet at the Venice Film Festival to promote the film, The Light Between Oceans which they’re starring in together, playing a married couple who face extraordinary circumstances as they try to grow their family.

This couple is pretty low-key themselves about their relationship and Fassbender recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about why.

“I’m not going to talk about my private life with a total stranger, unless I feel like I need to. Why would I?,” Fassbender said.

“I might have been curious about actors’ lives when I was growing up. That’s human nature. We’re all curious about a lot of things. But my curiosity didn’t obligate them to tell me.”

But, as the saying goes, a picture says a thousand words and looking at these two, the chemistry oozes between them and it’s very clear just how they really think about each other.

Fassbender goes on to say that their decision to keep their PDA to a minimum also helps their career.

“It’s the worst thing if you’re sitting there in the theater, going, ‘Oh, that’s the guy who dates this person and likes to do this in the morning and that in the afternoon,’” he says to EW. “Then you’re just watching a brand, as opposed to an actor.”

You won’t find either Fassbender or Vikander sharing snippets of their lives on Instagram or Snapchat, but everyone can feel the heat when they’re on the red carpet together!
