After 73 years in the industry, Michael Caine may finally be slowing down.

The 90-year-old legend stepped out for the premiere of his most recent project, The Great Escaper, in London earlier on Sept. 20, looking rather dapper in new photos.

The Miss Congeniality alum, who has previously suggested that the film, which is based on the true story of a war veteran slipping out of his care home in order to commemorate those lost on D-Day, is "probably" the last he'll ever shoot, showed up in style to mark the occasion.

He wore a navy blue blazer with gold buttons over a light blue button-up and black trousers with matching loafers, accessorizing simply with his Apple watch and gold-rimmed glasses. While he did stand to pose with director Oliver Parker for a few shots, using a cane for stability, he was seated in a black wheelchair in a series of cast photos and a black a silver office chair for his solo shots.

Caine opened up about his impending retirement in an interview with The Telegraph published on Sept. 19, admitting that, during the height of the coronavirus pandemic, he assumed he was already done.

"With Covid and all that, I hadn’t done a picture for three years, and I thought I was finished. And I suddenly did it – and had such a wonderful time," he told the publication. Though he fell in love with the role, it wasn't easy on him, as he relies on mobility aids to get around now.

"They gave me a very good walking stick, and I was able to do scenes that needed that. I’d just do them once, and then fall over," he joked.

The author, Mick Brown, looked back on Caine's original retirement plan, telling an interviewer in 1968 that he'd retire at 45 and "grow old gracefully" in a farmhouse filled with kids. Then, in 2015, Caine told Brown after Youth that he was officially done, before going on to make 10 more movies.

"I wasn’t 90 then," Caine pointed out. "I am bloody 90 now, and I can’t walk properly and all that."

Still, he only said that he's "sort of...retired now," so anything is possible!
