Michael B. Jordan Pledges to Adopt Inclusion Riders Going Forward, Officially Wins All of Our Hearts

The Black Panther and Creed star has pledged to adopt inclusion riders in all projects undertaken by his production company going forward.

Michael B. Jordan, of Black Panther and Creed fame, who, just last week, was named by Vogue’s podcast as one of the rare, true movie stars who, mercifully, still acts like one, has proven yet again that he has earned his place among the Hollywood firmament. Just a few days after Frances McDormand’s industry-shaking utterance onstage at the Academy Awards—that’d be the “inclusion rider” heard ’round the world—Jordan has announced that he will be adopting the progressive method for all projects produced by his company, Outlier Society, going forward.

“I’ve been privileged to work with powerful women & persons of color throughout my career & it’s Outlier’s mission to continue to create for talented individuals going forward,” Jordan wrote on Instagram, directing any curious minds to follow up with the link in his bio, which directed them to the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism research landing page, which currently boasts numerous articles on the topic of inclusion and representation in media. It just goes to show that nothing quite carries the weight of leading by example—especially in Hollywood.
