Michael B. Jordan Had a Hot Date at the Oscars: His Mom!

Although Black Panther star Michael B. Jordan typically hits the red carpet solo or with his co-stars, Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o, and Danai Gurira, for the 2019 Oscars on Sunday night, he brought his mom, Donna Jordan, as his plus-one.

The 32-year-old actor, who portrayed Erik Killmonger in the Academy Award-nominated film, stunned on the red carpet, sporting a blue velvet blazer. Meanwhile, his mother, Donna, kept it sophisticated in a black, floor-length gown with a sheer overlay. And the one thing the mother-and-son duo made abundantly clear with their stylish appearance is that good genes run in the Jordan family.

The Oscar presenter has been open about his close-knit family, admitting to Ellen DeGeneres in February 2018 that he still lives at home with his parents in California in a "roommate relationship."

"You get home-cooked meals but then you also have random trips to the kitchen in the middle of the night-just the random run-ins that might be uncomfortable from time to time," he explained on the talk show.

Apart from the dinners, though, Jordan has another sweet reason for not leaving his parents’ nest to The Times: He wants them to be able to live in a beautiful house.

"Look, it’s every kid’s dream, to buy their mom and dad a house," he said.

However, in November 2018, he revealed during an interview with Vanity Fair that he’ll soon be moving out and living in a penthouse in downtown Los Angeles.

But just because Jordan's mom sat next to him in the "key seat" at the 2019 Oscars, it doesn’t mean there isn’t room for another woman in his life. Earlier this month, Oprah interviewed Jordan for the Oprah’s SuperSoul Conversations From Times Square event in New York. During their candid conversation, Jordan confirmed that he’s dating-sort of.

When asked how he finds time for romance with his busy film schedule and while living in the public eye, Jordan said he’s "figuring it out" and hoping "she’ll reveal herself."

Until she does, however, we’ll continue to remain in awe at the adorable relationship Jordan has with his mom.
