Miami Public Library launches exciting summer programs

MIAMI, Okla. — Miami Public Library officials are in the process of jump-starting an adventure of summer programs. This summer’s theme is “Adventure begins at your library”.

Some of the summer programs include story times with guest readers for the kids – and game nights for teenagers.

They’re also bringing some summer classics back, like the summer reading challenge – where youngsters can win tickets to a pool bash at “Miami Municipal Pool.”

Youth librarian, Alexandra Speights, has high hopes for what’s in store.

“I’m really excited. The anticipation is getting to me and I’m ready for things to get started. I did start here in March so this is my first summer here and we’ve got a pretty loaded calendar and I’m excited to get into it,” said Alexandra Speights, Miami Public Library youth librarian.

One of the story time guest readers will be Mayor Bless Parker.

The summer programs will begin on Wednesday, June 5.
