New Mexico's Largest Ski Resort Hit With 30 Inches Of Snow

Yesterday, Taos Ski Valley, New Mexico, kept it simple, writing "30 inches. Enough said" on Instagram.

Local skiers knew exactly what was being implied—February was off to a strong start, and conditions were firing.

Taos' current snow report states that 33 inches of snow have fallen in the past 72 hours. A recap video of the weekend's conditions from the resort made the skiing look monstrously good. "Yesterday was a top 5 pow pow session of my life," wrote one skier below the recap.

As of today, Taos' watershed—the Upper Rio Grande—has a slightly above-normal snowpack.

According to Taos' weather tab, the storm that delivered this initial blast of powder skiing has let up, with no precipitation expected for the rest of the day.

However, more winter weather—and more snow—is headed to New Mexico.

"Enjoy the pleasant weather today while it lasts," the Albuquerque National Weather Service wrote today on X. "Unsettled cooler and wetter weather arrives into the state Tuesday night and through the rest of the week."

Taos could pick up another foot of snow between Wednesday and Thursday during this storm, increasing the chances of another powder day. To that, we say bring it on.
