*Major spoilers for Stranger Things 4 below!*

Stranger Things character Eddie Munson will go down in infamy for his heroic sacrifice in the last episode of the show's fourth season. Leader of Hawkins, Indiana's Hellfire Club, Eddie shredded a guitar solo of Metallica's "Master of Puppets" to distract demobats in the ultimate sacrifice for his friends. Viewers were devastated by Eddie's diversion and his unexpected death. Still, they were equally stunned to find that Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie in the hit series, actually played the intro of the solo IRL. With the 1986 single hitting the top of the charts since ST4 debuted over the Independence Day weekend, Metallica took to Instagram to celebrate the Duffer Brothers' inclusion of their song.

The heavy metal band posted the clip of Eddie dedicating the single to Chrissy, who he was accused of murdering earlier in the season, moments before he begins the song's intro. The heavy metal icons gave the scene their stamp of approval. "The way The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include "Master of Puppets" in the show, but to have such a pivotal scene built around it," the band began.

"We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away... it's so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn's hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?" Metallica continued, "It's an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie's journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show."

Eddie may have died in Dustin's arms as the episode drew closer to its end, but Joseph has hopes of possibly returning to the Hellfire Club in the show's last season. Joseph opened up about the possibility of coming back. "It'd be nice to clear his name. I don't know how we're gonna do that," Joseph told E! News. "It feels unjust, doesn't it? He paid the ultimate sacrifice for a town that thinks he's a monster."
