In March 1978, Meryl’s boyfriend, John Cazale, passed away due to lung cancer, so she turned to one of her brother’s friends, Don, for support. Their friendship quickly turned to romance, and the rest is history.
When did they get married?
Six months after Cazale’s tragic passing, Streep and Gummer tied the knot in an intimate wedding. The ceremony took place in the garden of the actress’s parents’ home.
